Felicity Frobisher's Fab Website

"One of the books most likely to fire children's imaginations."

The Sunday Times (30 June 2008)

Faber & Faber, 2008

The trouble with the Three-Headed Aldebaran Dust Devils is that they dust things
up and, if you happen to have one as a friend, it’s always you that gets the blame
on account of them being totally invisible!

Felicity Frobisher learns this to her cost one morning when a patch of her bedroom
wallpaper starts wavering like a mirage on a hot summer’s day – and out pops Flummff.

Flummff is from a very dusty planet around the red giant star Aldebaran. He gets Felicity
Frobisher – the most well-behaved, polite little girl at Inchley Manor School - into all
sorts of trouble. But she has fun too as she travels down wormholes, beats the school
bullies, uses a "Pan-Galactic Speaking Dictionary" to wow her French teacher, and even
visits the International Space Station.

Anything it seems is possible if you are friends with a Three-Headed Aldebaran Dust Devil!

(And, boys, if you think this book is for girls, Felicity Frobisher's co-star, Flummff, is a
boy, who is very, very bad. So, if you want to know how to really annoy girls
and get them into lots of trouble, read this book!)

"What a wonderful story! I giggled all through it, re-read it, then seized the chance
to read it out loud to my 7-year-old grandchild,
who devoured it in two sittings."

Alison Jolly, author of Bitika the Mouse Lemur and Ako the Aye-Aye
